This month, four solar PV projects — Namak, Phonsy-Phonxay, Nampa, and Sensamlan 2 — achieved Commercial Operation Date and were approved by Électricité du Laos (EDL) for grid connection.

Combined, these projects add more than 18 MWp of solar capacity and 2.4 MWh of battery storage to the Lao PDR grid — real, measurable progress toward a cleaner electricity mix for the country, and a tangible step in positioning Laos as the renewable backbone of the ASEAN Power Grid.
