SMP Awards 2nd EPC Contract for 11.5 MWp Solar Farm at Southern Laos

12 January 2026

Thavysub Energy, an associated company of RenewableX, has secured a 2nd contract from SMP for a 11.5 MWp (9.5 MWac) solar PV project in the south of Laos at Salavan province.

“Nothing speaks more than having a repeat customer,” said Xavier Cheong, Founder of RenewableX. “This will also be our first EPC project in southern Laos, a region that is expected to have higher energy demand following the announcement of the planned Sixth Lao-Thai Friendship bridge directly linking Salavan and Ubon Ratchathani. Such cross-border connectivity would encourage further trade and collaborations between Laos and Thailand, and contribute towards the development of both nations. We are happy to be part of this growth journey.”

On behalf of Thavysub Energy, we would like to thank SMP and VS for their continued trust in us.
